As a continuation of our annual November themes on social media, internet and related business networking, please find below and enclosed details of our forthcoming IERG Boston Chapter meeting ; WHAT : Driving Innovation Through Social Networks WHO : Mr Steven Wardell, VP Marketing Activate Networks WHEN : Monday 26th November 2012, at 6pm WHERE : Waltham MA Have you ever wondered how some organizations out-innovate the competition? Have you ever struggled to get the right contributions from your organization to support your innovation strategy? Steven Wardell will lead a discussion on what it takes for a company to win the innovation race in today’s global economy, by optimizing its own internal professional social network for innovation. Today it’s possible to map a company’s complete professional social network (the company’s “real org chart”) to see how work really gets done, using information already available in the company. By applying the management science of organizational network analysis to the network map, it’s possible to: 1. Identify the silos that form across your company, impeding the ability of experts to connect. 2. Spot the employees who are critical to innovation, such as leaders who span boundaries across the organization, plus energizers who attract others into their orbit. 3. Break down the internal barriers to synergy that block company innovation. 4. Form innovation teams that include the right leaders and experts with the right connections in the organization. BIO:Steven Wardell is Vice President of Marketing at Activate Networks, the leading network analytics company for business. His job is to make available, to all, the powerful insights about business effectiveness that are made possible by breakthroughs in network science. He writes regularly on network analysis, innovation, social influence, and data science at ActivateNetworks.net/blog. Activate Networks leverages the expertise of Professor Rob Cross, the world’s leading authority on organizational network analysis, to provide businesses with powerful real-world and online social-network-driven solutions to human capital issues -- issues such as innovation, collaboration, talent management, leadership development, revenue growth, and change management.
